Blogging Ellipsis!

Wikipedia defines "Ellipses" as a series of marks that usually indicate an intentional omission of a word, sentence or whole section from the original text being quoted. An ellipsis can also be used to indicate an unfinished thought or, at the end of a sentence, a trailing off into silence, When placed at the beginning or end of a sentence, the ellipsis can also inspire a feeling of melancholy or longing. The ellipsis calls for a slight pause in speech or any other form of text, but it is incorrect to use ellipses solely to indicate a pause in speech.

The last year and a half or maybe more has proved to be an ellipses (note the phrases marked in red);mainly due to lack of any interesting thing to write about and a major bout of "Writer's Block"! Then today as part of my digital marketing course I see a few videos about Blogs and How Blogging has changed a few people's lives and people giving talks about creating blogs! So, I decide to try and unblock my mind and write about something and what better than writing about what my mindset is right now!

Posting one of the videos that I saw about blogging:

To really love a woman....

To understand her - you gotta know it deep inside
Hear every thought - see every dream
N' give her wings - when she wants to fly
Then when you find yourself lyin' helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman you tell her
that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that it's gonna last forever

So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?

To really love a woman
Let her hold you -
til ya know how she needs to be touched
You've gotta breathe her - really taste her
Til you can feel her in your blood
N' when you can see your unborn children in her eyes
You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman
you tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that you'll always be together

So tell me have you ever really -
really really ever loved a woman?

You got to give her some faith - hold her tight
A little tenderness -
gotta treat her right
She will be there for you, takin' good care of you
Ya really gotta love your woman...

Then when you find yourself lyin' helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman you tell her
that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?

Just tell me have you ever really,
really, really, ever loved a woman? You got to tell me
Just tell me have you ever really,
really, really, ever loved a woman?

What's in a name?

"'Tis but thy name that is my enemy:...
What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."

Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)

Rahul Gandhi and his gandhigiri, Shiv Sena and their Marathi Manus agenda, SRK and his Namegame... have generated alot of questions in my mind... “Do I think I am who they say I am?” Do I look the same up close as Ido from a distance? Who am I, really? How easy is it to tell who YOU really are? Is your Religious/Non -Religious conviction apparent in everything you do and say? Do you, does your life, reflect who you say you really are?

I would like to ask this question? What should a person staying in Mumbai call himself? A Mumbaikar, Maharashtrian or an Indian?

It is one of the toughest questions to answer. You never know, who might come and bash you up for just expressing your opinion. For the last couple of weeks, there have been innumerable cases across the country especially Mumbai and its identity.

First the RSS took a stand on the issue. The Shiv Sena responded to it, the BJP followed suit. And then out of no where Rahul Gandhi jumped into the battlefield... And then My Name is Khan a.k.a SRk took over with his global identity crisis that needed correction...

A common man staying in Mumbai is always afraid to reveal his identity. For example, I was born in Mumbai, brought up here and even completed my education in this city. I work here, pay my taxes here, but I am forced to carry three identities with me. For someone who claims that Mumbai belongs to all, "I am an Indian." For someone who thinks otherwise, "I am just a Mumbaikar" and for a third who thinks I should know Marathi to stay in this state, "I should be a Maharashtrian."

Take SRK and the Shiv Sena war for e.g.: Aren't SRK Sena and the Shiv sena portraying the 2 sides of the same coin...? For days at end i see a Mr. Rahul from the Shiv Sena bandwagon defending his party's stand across all media channels... whereas the more tech savvy SRk is tweeting his heart out... about the MNIK release... Really people... what was it all about? Did anyone really benefit? Why keep Mumbai at stake?

The Mumbai Police, for once, got a pat on its back for standing guard in front of multiplexes as people filed in and guess by doing that; some intelligent reports about the Pune blast just slipped out of their minds maybe... Mr Chavhan who came all out in support of SRK and even went and watched the movie... wasnt aware of what was going on in Pune when talking to a news channel right after the Pune blast... because he was in "far away" Mumbai... maybe trying to ensure that all the shows of My Name is Khan ran house full...

The shiv sena says that they just initiated the rebellion against SRK but the slogan shouting morons who were all over the streets on Friday were actually the aam mumbaikars... Now Mr. Shiv Senas of the world... Are you seriously out of your mind...? Do you really think the aam Mumbai has the time and the energy to do what was done... We are just trying to do some productive work and some sit twiddling our thumbs in the traffic that leads us home...

Many of the so called "Mumbaikars have decided to watch SRK's My Name is Khan, not because they are his fans, but they are proud that at least for once, Bollywood that has been a soft target always of the politicians didn't bow. Atleast there is hope when SRK did raise his voice and expressed himself in reel and real life by saying that "He is a Khan and He is not a terrorist" and I think its time the common man too takes a stand and for once breaks away from the Identity crisis and shout out loud that "We Indians sure are Mumbaikars... but we are not Maharastrains..." So What? Come Kill Us!

Bhaiya SION Jayega? - Part 2

Everyone has a taxi horror story to share, a tale that may involve scamming, intimidation, drunken driving, faulty shock absorbers, unending traffic jams, malfunctioning meters -- or simply hedious body odor. Mine... is a little hatke!

Oppressive evening heat and humidity is melting my face and I'm choking on the settling dust. All I want to do is get home and the long ride ahead is already such a put off... But as they say... Picture abhi baki hai mere dost...

A tired frown on my face, waiting for more than 30 mins ... and out of the blue another cab comes into sight. “Sion?” I ask. Shaking a NO, the driver zooms ahead, disappointing me for the umpteenth time. This brings to light the fact that the law states that If you ask a cab driver to take you to some place, he cannot refuse. He has to take you, if he doesn’t, One can approach the nearest traffic cop and report the cab driver. But do we exercise it? YES We did... and guess what happened?

After a similar hardly working day... Kabs and me took a cab from work and started our zig zaggy jerky ride home... Suddenly, the cabbie realises that his cab's gas is about to pass out! Forget the cab... we were about to pass out with the thought of finding another cab... now being supposedly an even shorter distance than it was; before we started... Well to top it off the pained look on the cabbie's face prompted us to get off before he passed out.

So Kabs and me tried for about 15 mins to hail a cab when suddenly we see this "Knight in shining armour" (pun intended due to the whiteness of his shirt) stops a cab right in the middle of the road. He asks us to get in... We stare at him and then at the cabbie who is staring back at us... daring us to get in and get thrown out! In the middle of this eye balled tennis match; the Night and our Knight prompts us to get in... We hardly get a greatful "Thank You" out of our mouths that the cabbie rushes out as if its been set free off a spring...

What happens next? Well... We do get thrown out of the cab... in the middle of no where... just to start our hide and seek with the taxi all over again.

Layoffs across the world means fewer people are taking cabs in Mumbai City. Which means less money for taxi drivers. For no discernable reason, the cabs still did not want to stop for me whenever I flagged them. This has led me to become superstious and the need to drag my friend; Jit everyday to hail a cab since he has proved time and again that his charm works wonders with the cabbies... and they stop everytime they see him...

I've lost count of the number of cabs that are metered up with "For Hire" shouting out of their rolling lungs indicating they were free, but just zoom past as if their houses are on fire.
Feels like all the cabbies have conspired against me by always refusing short-distance rides. This will make me healthier by forcing me to walk for about 10 kms everyday.

Guys... Listen In... Do not believe whoever told you SION is a short distance destination!! Just tell them to Go get me a Ride!

A Moment Forever

This song has been playing in my mind these days... each word ... an unwritten autobiography... heard uncounted times just as thoughts wander around... and unspoken words... spill their beans.... a moment spinned into a lifetime of memories... What was dreamt and what is true...

Desire, love, loss and mortality,
Solitude of life,
A sense of isolation,
A strong sense of passing time.
A short life to stay,
Frightening in a way.
So close yet so far,

A part of me connected to you,
A moment shared to last till the end...
